Once Upon a Time…

Picture of Once Upon a Time…

Hannah always loved to strike a pose. Before influencing was cool (are we still in that time?), Hannah showed off her photogenic nature under the pseudonym @princessmozzarellastick. Although, the only thing cheesy about Hannah was her bright and cheery smile. Robert was lucky enough to catch the pull of her cheese... for a moment. When Robert first reached out to Hannah, she quickly blocked him. Robert didn’t really do anything wrong, probably, maybe he was just way too obnoxious or something. Robert wondered, but he didn’t try to circumvent the block, or ask for forgiveness, he accepted the rejection quietly and they lived happily never after each other. It was at this moment, Hannah knew, she fudged up. For years, rejecting Robert ate at Hannah, until one day, she saw Robert alone (but not lonely) on the streets of Hinge. Hannah gasped. Was he back? Would Robert forgive her and take her under his arm? Or was the wound of rejection so deep, Robert’s heart could not mend the scars? She reached out... a leap of faith. “Wassssuupppp” she said. Without missing a beat, Robert thought he had the upper hand. “Didn’t you block me?” he inquired, wondering if this was another catfish. Robert had experience fishing with his family, so he knew the smell of bait. To Robert’s surprise, Hannah was real. Hannah unblocked Robert. It was surreal. Hannah and Robert quickly became friends, chatting daily. Finally, Hannah decided it was time to meet, but she needed to know Robert was real.

Cue, the FaceTime. Hannah required Robert to FaceTime her and her family over dinner for at least 17 hours. May have been less, no one was really keeping track of time, Hannah and Robert were just in the moment. Even though Robert was being interviewed by a panel he could not see, the world melted around them. It was just Hannah and Robert talking, and it was right. After 26 more interviews, they both knew it was time and scheduled a date to get some pizza. There was no topping that night. It was the best date they both had ever had, feeling like scenes out of a movie. Flash forward years later, Hannah and Robert talked every day and were inseparable.

So unwilling to separate, Robert took Hannah to a place she dreamt of, Yosemite National Park. They drove through treacherous mountain passes covered in snow. A metaphor for what was to come, Robert braved the cold slush to chain their tires, determined to get Hannah to the waterfalls she loved to chase. After a bumpy ride, they had arrived in the valley, beauty second to none but Hannah’s. Their first and most important stop: Bridalveil Fall. Robert loved to be on the nose. Under the rebounding mist at the base of the fall, Robert nervously looked Hannah in the eyes and recited a sonnet he wrote just for her. Hannah was shookspeare until she realized what was happening as Robert took a knee, asking “Hannah, will you marry me?”. Hannah considered blocking Robert again then and there, but was too captivated by Robert’s attempt at poetry. Hannah said yes, cheered on by the crowd, fist bumps, and the roar of the Bridalveil tears falling behind them. Hannah and Robert hope you will join them in sharing their magic on October 10th, 2026. It will be 10/10, just like Hannah.
